Hookah Prep

Clean the hookah using luke warm water.  You can buy brushes to clean the stem/body unit.

Fill the water jar/reservoir high enough to cover the stem a few centimeters.

Assemble the body and place secure in the jar.

Fill bowl with shisha, almost to the top.  Do not pack the shisha too tightly.

Place alumimum foil over the top of the bowl, ideally not touching the shisha too much to avoid any harsh, burning smell.  Perforate the foil to allow for air flow.  Secure the bowl on the top of the hookah body.

Light coals.  When heated all the way through, place on top of the foil-covered hookah bowl.  You can wait for the coal to heat up the shisha naturally, or you can begin inhaling immediately to speed up the tobacco burning process.

Bowls tend to last between 30 minutes and an hour before they “burn out.”
